ERMI Analysis can identify and quantify 36 major indoor air molds to species. The assay uses the EPA’s patented MSQPCR techno logy which is available for over 100 mold species. What makes the ERMI unique is the science behind the analysis. The EPA has conducted a national research effort to develop a set of 36 mold species that comprise the ERMI. The ERMI identifies the risk of mold contamination in homes across the US regardless of locale. Two groups of mold are included in the ERMI assay. They include the Group I molds which are related to water intrusion and increased risk of respiratory conditions, and the Group II molds, which are the common molds found in most homes. By comparing the Group I molds to the Group II molds an ERMI score is derived that describes the relative risk of mold contamination in a home.
